An intimate evening of acoustic performances, original compositions and works in progress, presented by BADA.
Unplugged Live comes to the Patrick Studio on Saturday 14 November, presented by BADA. It's an evening of acoustic performances, original compositions and works in progress, bringing together emerging and established musicians, singers and songwriters. The night runs for around two and a half hours, including an interval.
The line-up for this edition features Karima Jannat, Saazib, Ayon Paul and Dr Imtiaz Ahmed. The mix of acoustic sets and original work means you'll hear finished pieces alongside things still being worked on, so it's a bit of a peek into the process as much as a proper gig. The acoustic format keeps things stripped back, with the focus on the songs and the voices.
It's held in the Patrick Studio, part of the Birmingham Hippodrome. The studio is a flexible performance space that seats just over 200 people, so it's small enough to feel close to the stage. It's fully accessible, air-conditioned and fitted with state-of-the-art technical equipment. Beyond this, the room is home to FABRIC, one of the Hippodrome's partner organisations and a national centre of excellence for dance, and it's used for research, rehearsing and creating new work, professional development, education and performance. It can be set up as a traditional performance space with raked seating or as an installation-style space, and it also takes in smaller-scale business meetings, presentations and banquets.
