Strictly fancy-dress underground rap party with trap, rage, SoundCloud and cloud rap, with Halloween costumes mandatory.
Locced In and Radar are teaming up for an underground Halloween party at Sophy - Digbeth on Thursday 29 October, and it's one of those nights that asks for a bit of effort before you even get through the door.
They're billing it as the biggest underground rap party in Brum, and the music list backs that up. You'll hear trap, rage, SoundCloud rap, cloud rap, and house, alongside other underground sounds that don't usually get much airtime around the city. It's a broad spread, so it's less about one specific subgenre and more about the whole underground rap and club scene. The organisers call the night 'Club Underground'.
There's a proper dress code to keep in mind: it's a strict fancy-dress affair. Halloween costumes are mandatory, and the rule they're sticking to is 'no costume, no party'. If you turn up without one, you're not getting in, so you'll need to have your outfit sorted well in advance. It's an over-18s night, and the doors close at midnight, so if you're planning to arrive late, you'll want to be there before then.
