Charity boxing event where complete beginners train for eight weeks and then box a matched opponent in front of friends and family.
Ultra White Collar Boxing takes over Bingley Hall on Saturday 21 November 2026, and it's not your usual night of sport. The whole thing is built around people with absolutely no boxing background stepping into the ring for the first time, so you're watching complete beginners rather than seasoned pros.
If you've never seen it before, here's how it works: anyone who signs up gets eight weeks of free professional boxing training, worth £300, to get them ready. After that, they're matched up against an opponent of a similar level and go three rounds in the ring, wearing 16oz gloves and head guards. The bouts take place at a fully regulated event, so it's kept safe and controlled, and the crowd is mostly friends and family cheering on people they actually know. It's as much about the training as it is about the fight.
There's a charitable side to it too. Participants are expected to sell tickets to their supporters, with a suggested minimum of £50 raised for charity, so the night does more than just put on a show. The sign-ups come from across the region, with people joining from Birmingham North, Birmingham South, Stafford, Walsall and Wolverhampton, so the ring will be filled with locals from all over the West Midlands.

If you're thinking of getting involved yourself, you'll need to sign up well in advance to fit in those eight weeks of training before the 21st. The event is at Bingley Hall, 1 Hockley Circus, Birmingham, B18 5PP.
