The Ultimate Christmas Cheese & Wine Tasting At City Centre

Loki Wine Bar & Tasting House is running its most special cheese and wine experience of the year at Loki Great Western Arcade on Saturday 5 December, from 12:00 to 14:00. It's a two-hour session that takes you through seven festive pairings of wine and artisan cheese, with a Loki wine expert leading the way.

The whole point is to see how the two work together. The expert talks you through how acidity, texture, maturity, sweetness and intensity change both the wine and the cheese, and shows you how to put together a balanced Christmas cheeseboard. The pairings run from Champagne and Brillat-Savarin through to Port and Stilton, with mature Comté, truffle-infused Brie, Taleggio, Manchego and Roquefort in between. It's a good way to get a handle on the different styles of cheese and wine that usually end up on a festive board, and how to match them up properly.

It's a midday session in the city centre, so it works as a standalone thing or as a way to kick off a Saturday afternoon. The venue is Loki Great Western Arcade, 36 Great Western Arcade, Birmingham, B2 5HU. Tickets are £60 per person.
