A retro 1980s dance night featuring pop, synth, disco and new wave classics from icons like Wham!, Madonna and Prince, with free entry from 10:30pm.
Club Tropicana takes over The Dark Horse in Moseley on Saturday 17 October, a full-throttle celebration of the 1980s. The night runs from 9:00 pm through to 2:00 am, with DJs spinning pop, synth, disco, new wave and dancefloor classics from the era. You'll hear the big names — Wham!, Madonna, Prince, Duran Duran, Whitney Houston and Michael Jackson — all set against a nostalgic atmosphere of neon lights, big hair and singalong favourites.
The night is hosted upstairs at The Dark Horse, which has a full bar stocking craft beers, lagers, Aspall cyder, spirits, bottled beers and ciders, as well as soft drinks. It's a dedicated space for the music, so you can spend as much of the night on the dancefloor as you like without having to leave the room for a drink. There's no cloakroom, so keep that in mind if you're bringing a coat.

One thing to be aware of is the house rule: no tracksuits or joggers after 9:00 pm on Fridays and Saturdays. Since this is a Saturday night, it'll apply here, so leave the gym gear at home if you're planning to stay late. Entry is free from 10:30 pm till late, so if you're not in for the early start, you can just turn up later in the evening and still catch the bulk of it. The whole thing runs until 2:00 am, with the music going right through.
