The Rock Orchestra presents its epic rock and metal spectacle Arena of Fire, blending classical music with metal, pyro displays and fire performers.
The Rock Orchestra play Utilita Arena Birmingham on Friday 23 October, bringing their new show Arena of Fire to the city. It's a rock and metal spectacle that puts classical music and metal on the same stage, with the Birmingham date coming after back-to-back tours of the USA and Europe.
On the night, the orchestra is joined by 14 classical musicians, world-class vocalists, a choir and the fire performers The Fuel Girls. The show runs about 90 minutes and works its way from haunting symphonic passages to full-throttle rock explosions, with a heavy visual aesthetic throughout. Arena of Fire takes legendary rock and metal anthems and pairs them with pyro displays and fire performers.
The Rock Orchestra describes itself as a rotating collective of some of the world's greatest classical instrumentalists, vocalists and live performance artists. That rotating line-up is part of how they work, drawing on different musicians for different shows rather than keeping a fixed set of members.
