Interactive courtroom drama in which the audience sits in the jury box and votes on who is responsible when a driverless car takes a life.
The Jury Experience is back at The Old Rep Theatre on Saturday 23 January 2027, with The Killer AI taking the stand. It's a courtroom drama that does things a bit differently: instead of watching from the gallery, you sit in the jury box. You're not just an observer; you're the one weighing the testimony, examining the evidence, and casting the votes that decide whether the accused walks free or pays the price.
The Killer AI case asks who's responsible when a driverless car takes a life. Is it the programmer who wrote the code, the passenger who trusted the machine, or the AI that made the call? It's inspired by true events, and the cases are built to be challenging, with no legal precedents or easy answers. There are votes at key moments that open up hidden angles, so every show ends differently. If you go with a group, you might find yourselves arguing over the verdict long after the lights come up.
This is part of The Jury Experience series, which has been staged in more than 40 cities since it first debuted right here in Birmingham and has picked up plenty of five-star reviews along the way. It's a good chance to see it return to its home city.
