Stand-up show 'The Remarkable' by Ben Hart, presented by Lee Martin for Gag Reflex at The Old Rep Theatre.
Ben Hart brings his new show, The Remarkable, to The Old Rep Theatre on Sunday 1 November. It's a brand-new hour, and Hart bills it as his most astonishing and impossible yet, following a run of sold-out performances around the world. The show is presented by Lee Martin for Gag Reflex, and it's described as a mind-bending theatrical experience. One thing to keep in mind before you book: it contains strong language.
The venue is The Old Rep on Station Street, right in the centre of Birmingham. It's a young people-driven theatre with a year-round programme of theatre, dance, comedy, musicals and creative workshops, so Hart's night is just one part of what they've got going on across the city. The room itself is a bit of a Birmingham landmark: it was Britain's first purpose-built repertory theatre, opened in 1913 as the original home of the Birmingham Repertory Company led by Sir Barry Jackson, who moved the company to Broad Street in 1971. In 2016, it won Best Small Theatre/Arts Venue, Birmingham at the What's On Reader Awards.

So, Ben Hart, The Remarkable, Sunday 1 November at The Old Rep Theatre on Station Street. It's a new show from a performer who's been playing to sold-out crowds internationally, and this is the one he's calling his most impossible yet. If you're into comedy that leans more towards the theatrical than the stand-up club, this is the one to look out for.
