The Consortium, fronted by Phil Stanley, bring a high-energy Mod and New Wave set from the 60s to 90s.
The Consortium are back at Joe Joe Jims on Friday 16 October, their first appearance at the venue since their last show there. It's a Mod and New Wave set that pulls from the 60s right through to the 90s, so the songs they'll be playing span three decades of that particular scene. If you're into the Mod sound, it's a broad enough reach to cover both the early stuff and the later New Wave that followed.
Phil Stanley fronts the band, and he's also the frontman for The Coopers, so he's a familiar face on the local circuit. The set is built around his stage presence and the band's sound, and they describe it as a high-energy show that takes the audience back to those days. The venue notes that when they last played Joe Joe Jims, the crowd wasn't disappointed, which is a fair hint at what to expect from the night.

It's a general admission gig with no assigned seating, so you'll be standing and moving around rather than sitting in a row. There is a raised disabled guest area accessible via ramp, so that's sorted if you need it. The music runs from 8:00pm to 10:30pm, and tickets are £12 online plus fees, or £15 on the door, though the latter is subject to capacity, so it's worth getting yours in advance if you're planning on going. Joe Joe Jims is on Lickey Road in Birmingham, B45 8UU.
