A tribute performance by the Small Fakers, covering the back catalogue of the mod legends Small Faces, including hits like 'All Or Nothing' and 'Itchycoo Park'.
Small Fakers play Joe Joe Jims on Saturday 24 October, a tribute to the mod legends Small Faces. They've been going since 2007 and bill themselves as the UK's only tribute to the band, who worked their way through blues, rock and prog and left their mark on generations of musicians.
The set follows the Small Faces' back catalogue in order. It kicks off with the early singles, moves through hits like 'All Or Nothing', 'Itchycoo Park' and 'Lazy Sunday', and mixes in B-sides and fan favourites along the way. It finishes with highlights from Ogden's Nut Gone Flake. They describe the night as a visual and musical feast for fans, and as a tribute to the late Steve Marriott, Ian McLagan, Ronnie Lane and Kenney Jones.
It's a full run of the material rather than a greatest hits set, so you'll hear the early singles and the later, more psychedelic stuff in one go. The Small Faces were one of those bands that changed sound as they went, and the set tracks that shift from the mod singles through to the Ogden's era.
