Wellbeing session combining meditation, mudra and sound healing led by Scott, founder of Connection to Self workshops.
Reconnecting to the natural rhythm is at The Iyengar Yoga Institute in Acocks Green on Sunday 6 December, a wellbeing session led by Scott, who runs Connection to Self workshops. It's a combination of meditation, mudra and sound healing, and it runs for about two hours.
Scott brings a fair bit of ground to this. He's a Reiki practitioner, a Master teacher, a qualified Life Purpose Coach and a mindfulness practitioner with over 20 years of experience, and he also works as a sound healer with teenagers and adults. He describes his approach as channeling healing energy into his instruments, whose sound he says resonates through the space and helps the brain shift from active beta waves into slower alpha and theta states. In that inner quiet, he says, the body activates its own natural healing processes: the parasympathetic nervous system switches on, muscle tension releases and stress hormones drop.

It's also not suitable for anyone in their first or third trimester of pregnancy, people with heart conditions, metal plates or severe mental health issues.
