Professor Brian Cox brings his science show Emergence to the Utilita Arena, exploring the universe from particles to structures.
Professor Brian Cox brings his new show Emergence to the Utilita Arena Birmingham on Friday 30 October. It's the Birmingham stop of a world tour that takes over from his previous one, Horizons, which played to nearly half a million people across the globe. The new show follows a similar trajectory to the one that came before: Cox carries the audience from the smallest particles in the universe up to its largest structures, so you'll be moving from the subatomic to the cosmic in a single evening.
If you're wondering who's behind it, Cox is a Professor of Particle Physics at The University of Manchester and the Royal Society Professor for Public Engagement in Science. He's spent the last 15 years fronting landmark BBC science programmes, from the Peabody Award-winning Wonders of the Solar System to the hit series The Planets, and has written best-selling books including Human Universe and Universal: A Guide to The Cosmos. He's also got two Guinness World Records for a science tour: one for the total sell-out of his debut tour that started in 2016, and another for his first live tour, which reached more than 150,000 people across the UK and Ireland.
