Birmingham Rep's family production of J.M. Barrie's 'Peter Pan', adapted by Phil Porter with music by Ruth Chan and directed by Joe Murphy.
Peter Pan runs at The House, Birmingham Rep from Wednesday 18 November 2026 to Sunday 17 January 2027, a long winter run that takes the story through the Christmas break and well into the new year. It's a musical version of J M Barrie's children's story, and the production describes itself as a faithful re-telling of the original. The plot follows Wendy, Peter, Tinker Bell and the Lost Boys as they head into a world of mermaids, mischief and imagination, while Captain Hook schemes to capture them.
Behind the scenes, the adaptation is by Phil Porter, with original music by Ruth Chan. Set and costume design come from Hayley Grindle, and it's directed by Joe Murphy, the Rep's Artistic Director, who also staged the company's Sweeney Todd. The production is presented by arrangement with Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity and Concord Theatricals Ltd on behalf of Samuel French Ltd.
