Pete Tong brings the spirit of Ibiza to the arena with The Essential Orchestra, plus vocalists Ultra Naté, Poppy Baskcomb and Paige Cavell and a Leftfield DJ set.
Pete Tong brings Ibiza Classics to Utilita Arena Birmingham on Wednesday 9 December, part of an arena tour that takes the spirit of the island to the mainland. The whole thing is built around Tong's signature blend of electronic and pop music, played out in a concert setting with The Essential Orchestra. The set focuses on electro-pop hits, backed by visuals and production, and it's a long way from a standard club night.
Tong isn't on his own for this one. He's joined by The Essential Orchestra, and the night features guest vocalists Ultra Naté, Poppy Baskcomb and Paige Cavell. There's also a DJ set from Leftfield, so you've got the orchestral side of things and a proper dancefloor set in the same evening. It's a big line-up for one night, and the mix of live vocals and a full orchestra means the electronic tracks get a proper live treatment rather than just being played from a deck.
If you're thinking about how to watch it, there are both standing and seated options, so you can pick your spot depending on whether you'd rather be in the thick of it or settled in for the orchestral side. There are age restrictions and ticket limits in place, which is worth keeping in mind if you're booking for a group.
