Paul Heaton performs live with special guest singer Rianne Downey and support from The Lightning Seeds at the Utilita Arena.
Paul Heaton plays Utilita Arena Birmingham on Friday 13 November, with The Lightning Seeds on support and Rianne Downey joining him on vocals. It's a tour for his new album, Jenius, which came out on 21 August 2026.
Heaton's set draws from across his career, so you'll hear songs from The Beautiful South and The Housemartins alongside the newer material. Rianne Downey is his regular vocalist and will be on stage with him throughout. The Lightning Seeds open the night, and there's a bit of a connection there: their frontman Ian Broudie produced Jenius at Blueprint Studios in Manchester.
Jenius is Heaton's 23rd album. It arrives nearly 40 years after The Housemartins' London 0 Hull 4, so the set will be pulling from a long stretch of songs. Between the new record and the older stuff, the night covers a fair bit of ground.
