Touring stage production inspired by the horror film series, with a found-footage narrative and stage illusions by Chris Fisher.
Paranormal Activity is at The Alexandra from 27 to 31 October, a stage production inspired by the horror film series of the same name. The films themselves have a bit of a legend attached: the first one grossed $194 million worldwide from a budget of just $15,000, and this is the stage version that followed.
It's an original story by Felix Barrett, founder and artistic director of Punchdrunk, and playwright Levi Holloway. It follows a couple, James and Lou, who move from Chicago to London to escape their past, only to find that places aren't haunted — people are. The whole thing is told as a live stage version of the films' found-footage style, with stage illusions by Chris Fisher, the man behind Derren Brown's stage shows. After a sell-out West End run, the production is now on its first-ever UK and Ireland tour.
