Christmas pantomime at the Birmingham Hippodrome with Rylan as the Diva of Dreams and Matt Slack as Lester the Jester.
Sleeping Beauty opens at the Birmingham Hippodrome on Saturday 19 December, running through to Sunday 31 January. It's the big regional panto this Christmas, and the story is the one you know: Princess Aurora is cursed by her wicked aunt Carabosse and falls into a century of slumber. It's produced by Crossroads Pantomimes, and the sets and costumes come straight from The London Palladium, so it'll have that big, polished look.
The cast is a proper mix of new faces and panto regulars. Rylan makes his Birmingham panto debut as the Diva of Dreams, and Matt Slack returns as Lester the Jester for his thirteenth consecutive season here. Andrew Ryan is back as the dame, marking his tenth season in the role. Zoe Birkett plays Carabosse, and Keziah Ibe takes on Princess Aurora. Ben Culleton plays Prince Peter of Perry Barr, and he joins fresh from playing Freddy Eynsford-Hill in My Fair Lady at Chichester Festival Theatre, with West End credits including Les Misérables, Grease and Mary Poppins. Keziah Ibe also trained at Arts Educational Schools London and played Eliza Doolittle in My Fair Lady at Chichester.
