Interactive Christmas concert by the CBSO for young children, with British Sign Language interpretation, free craft activities and a meet-the-musicians session.
Notelets: Christmas Adventure is coming to the CBSO Centre on Friday 4 and Saturday 5 December, part of the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra's Notelets series. These are interactive concerts designed for very young children, so if you've got little ones at home, this is one of those rare outings where they're actually encouraged to get involved rather than sit still. They can dance, sing, and discover orchestral instruments for the first time, and every performance includes British Sign Language interpretation.
The music is just one part of the day. Before each session, there are free craft activities running in collaboration with Ikon Gallery, so you can arrive early and let the kids make something before the concert starts. Once the music finishes, the musicians stay on to meet the audience, and there's a chance for the children to try out the instruments themselves. It's a full morning or afternoon out, not just a quick sit-down.

There are five sessions across the two days, so you can pick the one that fits your schedule best. On Friday 4 December, there are shows at 11:00 and 13:00. Saturday 5 December has three: 11:00, 13:30, and 15:30. Tickets are £10, and the whole thing is supported by the Clive Richards Foundation.
