New Year's Eve party with cheeseboards, midnight fizz and live Northern Soul and Motown classics performed by the Midnight City Soul Band.
Joe Joe Jims is hosting its New Year's Eve party on Thursday 31 December, with the Midnight City Soul Band taking the stage. It's a full evening that runs from 6:00pm, so you've got plenty of time to settle in before the clock strikes midnight.
The music comes from the Midnight City Soul Band, one of the venue's regulars, and the set is built around Northern Soul and Motown classics. If you're into those sounds, you'll know the territory: upbeat, danceable soul that doesn't let up, with the kind of songs that work just as well for dancing as they do for just hanging out. They're a familiar face around here, so they'll be playing to a room that knows their set.
Around the music, there's the usual Joe Joe Jims hospitality. Cheeseboards and nibbles are on the tables throughout the night, and there's a midnight Fizz to bring in the new year. It's a straightforward way to spend the evening without having to coordinate multiple bookings across the cityβthe food, the music, and the countdown are all in one place.
