Stand-up show by Irish comedian Jimeoin, known for his surreal observations of everyday suburban life.
Jimeoin is playing Birmingham Town Hall on Sunday 25 October, with the show starting at 7:30pm. He's an Irish stand-up from Portstewart, Northern Ireland, who moved to Australia more than a decade ago and has since built a huge following there, touring to record-breaking audiences across the country. If you've come across his name but haven't seen him live, he's one of those comedians whose reputation is largely built on the stage rather than the screen.
His act is built on cheeky, no-gimmicks, sometimes surreal observations of everyday suburban life, all delivered in a trademark devil-may-care style. It's the kind of comedy that doesn't rely on a particular gimmick or a high-concept premise; it's just him and his take on the world. He's appeared on television on Live at the Apollo and The Royal Variety Performance, and his online comedy clips have been viewed by hundreds of millions, so there's plenty to get a feel for before you head in.
The critics have been generous, too. The Scotsman called his work "stand-up comedy at its best", and The Independent described it as "comedy of the highest order". Between the TV spots, the massive Australian tours, and the online numbers, he's well-established as a live performer who knows how to hold a room.
