Weekly reggae and dancehall night with Jam Jah Sound and special guest Hermit Dubz at The Station in Kings Heath.
Jam Jah Mondays returns to The Station Pub on Monday 26 October, with Hermit Dubz taking the guest spot. It's a soca and dancehall night, part of the longest-running weekly reggae and dancehall soundsystem event in Europe, which has run every Monday at The Station in Kings Heath since 2001. The sound system is currently celebrating its 25th anniversary, so this is one of many sessions marking a quarter-century of the night.
Fronting the evening is Jam Jah Sound, a Friendly Fire Music live faction made up of Bongo Damo, Robbie Don and Myki Tuff. The format is a constant: the Jam Jah crew holds the fort and welcomes a different special guest each week. This time it's Hermit Dubz, a Birmingham roots and culture producer with releases on Abendigo, Dubphonics and his own Silent River imprint. He'll be playing alongside the Jam Jah team, so you've got the resident sound and the guest producer working the same room.
If you can't make it in person, the session is streamed live on Rex Radio, Genesis Radio and Mixcloud. Rex Radio recently gave it the 'Best Live Show Award', and the stream means you can hear the set from home if you're not around Kings Heath on the night.
