INDIE vs BRITPOP Double Headliner: all4indie vs Britpop United

all4indie and Britpop United share a bill at the Hare & Hounds in Kings Heath on Saturday 24 October, with each band playing their own set. The night is billed as a double headliner, and the two acts are pitched against one another, so you get two full sets rather than one band supporting the other.

Between them, they cover a fair bit of ground. all4indie takes the indie and alternative side of things, while Britpop United handles the Britpop and Madchester half. Together they work through the hits from both eras, so the night runs from the guitar-driven indie and alternative sounds of the nineties and beyond over to the Britpop and Madchester records that defined the UK scene in the same period. If you've spent years arguing about which side of that divide you prefer, this is one of the few nights where you get both on the same stage.

It's a straightforward setup: two bands, two sets, and a good run through the songs that most of us know by heart. all4indie brings the indie and alternative hits, Britpop United takes the Britpop and Madchester ones, and the two combined cover the ground of both. It's less a battle and more a double bill that lets you hear the two sounds back-to-back.

The Hare & Hounds is at 106 High Street, Kings Heath, B14 7JZ, and the night starts at 7:30pm. Tickets are from £14.96.
