Good Habits

Good Habits play Hare And Hounds in Kings Heath on Thursday 22 October, with the set running from 19:30 to 22:30. It's a headline slot for the indie-folk act, who've come a fair way to get here.

They describe themselves as a genre-bending indie-folk act forged on the other side of the globe, and that's where the 'genre-bending' part does the heavy lifting. While folk sits at the centre, the way they pull in other sounds is what gives them their particular shape. It's not folk in the traditional sense — more of a starting point that they stretch and shift as they go, so the set should move through a few different moods over the course of the evening.

That distance they mention is part of the story too. They're an act that formed on the other side of the world, and this is one of the nights they're bringing that sound over to Birmingham. If you've got a soft spot for folk that doesn't stay in one lane, this is the kind of gig that fits.

Tickets are £10.60 to £15.60 through Skiddle, and the whole thing runs from 19:30 to 22:30 at Hare And Hounds, Kings Heath.
