Glam45, a tribute band of musicians from Glitter Band, plays 70s glam rock anthems at Joe Joe Jims.
Glam45 are playing Joe Joe Jims on Saturday 31 October, a tribute to 70s glam rock. They've been around since 2012, formed by musicians from John Rossall's Glitter Band, Smashed, The Stiffs and Sweet Addiction, and they describe their aim as delivering as authentic a 70s glam rock experience as possible. That goes beyond the music, too: they perform in original 70s outfits and modern reproductions of the era's styles.
Over the years they've played auditoria, theatres, clubs, holiday camps, hotels, conference centres, armed forces bases, sports stadia, festivals and outdoor events across the UK and Europe, performing for several hundred thousand people. Their repertoire sits alongside 70s names like Suzi Quatro, Slade, Alan Merrill and the Arrows, Showaddywaddy, Mud II, The Rollthers, Rubettes and the late Alvin Stardust.
The line-up for the night is Steve Fielding on bass and backing vocals, Chuff on lead vocals and guitar, Dave Airey on guitar and backing vocals, and Gav Baskerville on drums. It's a full band on stage, so you'll hear the songs played out in full rather than as a stripped-back set.
