Birmingham's biggest repair event with clothing, electronics and household repairs, a sustainable marketplace and drop-in activities.
Festive Fix is coming to Ikon Gallery on Thursday 3 December, from 5.00pm to 8.00pm. It's billed as Birmingham's biggest repair event, and it's held in the Ikon Shop inside the gallery at 1 Oozells Square, Brindleyplace.
The main draw is the repair side of things: clothing, electronics and household repairs all under one roof. If you've got a jumper with a hole, a toaster that's given up, or a lamp that won't light, this is where you bring them. It's a practical sort of evening, the kind where you walk in with a bag of things that need fixing and walk out with them working again.
Beyond the repairs, there's a sustainable marketplace to browse and drop-in activities to get stuck into. The marketplace is built around the same idea as the repairs — buying and selling things that last rather than things that get thrown away — so it's a good spot to pick up something useful without adding to the landfill. The drop-in activities mean you can hang around and do something creative while you wait for your things to be sorted, rather than just standing about.
Every week we pick 🏆 the 5 best 🏆 things to do in Birmingham and send them to your inbox. Just one weekly email, no spam.

It's all in the Ikon Shop, which is tucked inside the gallery in Brindleyplace, so it's easy enough to get to. The whole thing runs from 5.00pm to 8.00pm on Thursday 3 December, giving you a few hours to get your repairs done and have a look around the market. If you've been putting off fixing that one thing for months, this is a decent excuse to finally get it sorted.
