Regular night at The Night Owl with DJs playing groovy soul and Motown music from the 1950s to the 1990s.
Dig? returns to The Night Owl on Saturday 7 November, starting at 11:00pm. It's a regular night at the club, and the format is straightforward: dance-floor filling DJs playing groovy music from the 1950s through to the 1990s. There's plenty of soul in the mix, and live music on the go to raise awareness and money for campaigning.
The Night Owl itself is a Birmingham club devoted to Northern Soul and Motown, billed as the Midlands' only edition of the genre. Dig? fits right into that, with the DJs pulling from a few decades of records to keep the floor moving. It's one of several nights the venue programmes across the city, alongside Boogie Tuesday's, Season of the Witch and Moonshake.
Behind the club is Neighbourhd, which describes its vision as bringing working and budding Birmingham musicians together and empowering them to own the city. They talk about it as a place to get lost while having fun, rather than something on the road. That spirit carries over into the nights they run, including Dig?.
