Halloween season night at The Night Owl with live music from Beltane Moon, Notion of Fortune and Maddox plus DJs spinning witchy sounds.
Season of the Witch comes to The Night Owl on Friday 30 October, one of the lead-up nights to All Hallows' Day. The line-up brings together Beltane Moon, Notion of Fortune, and Maddox, with DJs keeping things going throughout the night. It's a night of live music and entertainment in the run-up to Halloween, and the DJs will be spinning witchy sounds from start to finish.
If you haven't spent much time there, The Night Owl is an independent music venue in Digbeth, billed as the Midlands' only Northern Soul and Motown bar. Every Friday it turns into a collision of psychedelic sounds, garage grooves, freakbeat, world music and hypnotic rhythms. Its Halloween season is something of a local legend: the room has been transformed into everything from the world of Stranger Things and Tim Burton-inspired wonderlands to The Rocky Horror Picture Show and the venue's own 'A Nightmare on Trinity Street'. Its flagship Monster Mash Halloween Party sold out two weeks in advance, so this is one of the nights leading up to the main event.
Season of the Witch is built around some of Birmingham's more mystical musicians, with the DJs taking over the gaps between the live sets. The venue's own tagline sums it up: 'Good people dancing to good music'.
