Death Note-themed clubnight with anime visuals on eight screens, a custom cocktail menu, goth and nu metal anthems and a photo booth.
Death Note: The Clubnight takes over The Asylum Venue on Saturday 19 December, a night built around the manga and anime series. It's a themed clubnight rather than a gig, and the whole room is dressed to match, with Death Note visuals and stage props throughout. The series itself will be playing across eight 75-inch screens, so there's plenty to look at even when you're not on the dancefloor.
The music is where the 2000s gothic anime nostalgia really comes through. The soundtrack mixes songs from the show with alternative, emo, goth and nu metal anthems, so it's as much about the era as it is about the series. There's a custom cocktail menu for the night, and dressing up is encouraged, which is always a good sign for this kind of thing. An official photographer and a photo booth are on hand to capture the lot, with confetti and glowsticks on the floor.
