Beginner-friendly dot painting workshop where attendees learn pointillism on plaster stones and leave with a handcrafted ornament.
Creating Calm is a dot painting workshop running at Sweetfields Cafe and Bakery on Thursday 28 January 2027, from 2pm to 4pm. It's a two-hour session led by Lowenna Mistry, who runs a range of hobby and craft workshops across the city.
The focus is pointillism, or dot painting, and the session is designed for beginners. You'll be working on hand-cast plaster stones, and you'll leave with your own finished, painted ornament. All the materials you need are provided on the day, and there's no previous artistic experience required to take part.
Lowenna Mistry, who you'll find as @stop_rock_and_roll, is the one behind the session. She puts together a variety of hobby and craft workshops, and this one fits right into that mix. The venue, Sweetfields Cafe and Bakery, provides the space free of charge, so attendees are asked to buy a drink and a cake or snack while they're there.
