A workshop to build your own miniature glass ecosystems; glassware, plants and tools provided by The Glass Garden Enthusiasts Collective.
The Glass Garden Enthusiasts Collective are running a terrarium workshop at 5 Cover Croft on Sunday 18 October, from 21:00 to 22:00. It's called Crafting Your Own Miniature Glass Oasis, and the whole point is to build your own small glass ecosystem from scratch.
Over the hour, you'll learn how to layer soil and moss to create a thriving micro-environment, and get a handle on the balance of light, moisture and soil that keeps these little indoor worlds healthy. It's set up as a casual, low-pressure session for anyone who enjoys working with their hands, so it works as well for beginners as it does for seasoned terrarium collectors. The organisers provide the glassware, plants and tools, so you only need to bring yourself and a bit of patience for the creative process.
Beyond the making, it's framed as a way to meet other people in the local indoor-gardening community and swap tips and ideas. The session is run by The Glass Garden Enthusiasts Collective, a Birmingham group of indoor-gardening enthusiasts, and is hosted by Fred P.
