Cocktails & Canvas @ Deep Jamaican!

Cocktails & Canvas comes to Deep Experience Jamaican Grill and Bar on Thursday 5 November, starting at 18:00. It's a sip-and-paint session that does exactly what the name says: you get a canvas to paint and a cocktail in your hand, and you spend the evening working on one while you sip the other.

The night is part of the Artsy Party Brum series, and it's the organiser's first Icons Never Fade Sip and Paint event. That title gives you a good steer on what you'll be painting — the Icons Never Fade theme points towards a well-known face rather than a landscape or an abstract, so you'll be working your way across the canvas with a particular figure in mind. If you've never done a sip-and-paint before, the format is straightforward: you're guided through the painting process step by step, so you don't need to be an artist to come along. The cocktails are there to keep the mood easy, and the point is more about the process than the finished product.

It's being held at Deep Experience Jamaican Grill and Bar, at 34 Bristol Street, B5 7AA, in the heart of Birmingham. The venue is a Jamaican grill and bar, so the food and drink are part of the draw as much as the painting. Between the cocktails and the canvas, you're in a spot known for its Jamaican cooking, which fits the Artsy Party Brum vibe of mixing a creative activity with a proper night out.

So, if you fancy spending a Thursday evening painting an icon with a drink in your hand, that's the one. It kicks off at 18:00 on 5 November at Deep Experience Jamaican Grill and Bar on Bristol Street.
