Informal conference for grassroots sports club leaders in Birmingham, with speakers, workshops on club culture, funding and sustainability, and a networking fair.
Sport Birmingham are running the Club Together Conference at Fazeley Studios on Sunday 25 October, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. It's aimed at people who run grassroots sports clubs across the city, and the whole point is to help them find the support, funding and resources available in Birmingham and to meet the people behind the organisations that provide them.
The format is deliberately informal. There's no jargon and no lectures, just honest conversations, useful contacts and a chance to have a say on what clubs in Birmingham actually need. The day opens with welcome and refreshments, followed by speakers covering what's happening both nationally and locally. From there, it moves into introductory workshops on club culture, working as a committee, funding and environmental sustainability, and it finishes with lunch and a networking fair.
Sport Birmingham is the independent charity and Active Partnership behind it. They've been around since 2006, working to make sport and physical activity more inclusive and accessible across the city, so this is right in their wheelhouse. If you're running a local club, the day is as much about the other people in the room as it is about the sessions — it's a good place to connect with other club organisers and the people who can actually help you get things done.
