Cheese and port pairing evening from the Birmingham Local Wine School's 'Cheese and Wine Pairing Evenings' series.
Birmingham Local Wine School is hosting a cheese and port pairing evening at Wayland's Yard on Saturday 28 November, starting at 7:00pm. It's part of their 'Cheese and Wine Pairing Evenings' series, which they describe as the school's most popular event.
Over the course of the evening, you'll work through six different cheese and wine combinations. It's set up as an introduction to food and wine matching, so you'll walk away with something you can actually use when you're putting together your own boards at home. If you've never really thought about how a particular wine changes the taste of a cheese, this is a good place to start.
The school is part of the Local Wine School Network, which they describe as the world's fastest-growing network of independent wine schools, running courses at all levels and professional qualifications across more than 40 UK locations. So while this is a one-off evening, it's backed by a proper teaching setup rather than just a tasting room.
