Professional session introducing primary school staff to Peacemakers' interactive approach to circle time to build relationships in schools.
Building and strengthening relationships through peace circles runs at The Priory Rooms Meeting & Conference Centre on Monday 2 November, starting at 09:00. It's a session aimed at primary school staff, and the whole thing centres on peace circles.
If you're not familiar with the term, a peace circle is a way of bringing people together to talk and listen, usually sitting in a circle so everyone can see one another. The idea is to create a space where people feel heard and understood, and where conflicts can be worked through together rather than left to simmer. It's less about solving a problem quickly and more about the process of listening and understanding each other.
The session introduces Peacemakers' interactive approach to circle time. Rather than just talking about the theory, they'll show you how it actually works in practice. It's a tool for building and strengthening relationships within the school community — between staff and pupils, and between the pupils themselves — and the focus is on how to use it as part of a school's regular life, not just as a one-off when things go wrong.
