Vintage marketplace of mid-century homewares, furniture, lighting and collectables from the 1940s to the 1970s at Secret Space Digbeth.
Birmingham's Midcentury Home Market is coming to Secret Space Digbeth on Sunday 6 December, from 11am to 4pm. It's a one-day vintage fair focused on retro homewares, furniture, lighting and collectables from the 1940s to the 1970s, and it brings together specialist traders from across the UK under one roof.
If you're into mid-century modern, you'll recognise the names that usually turn up here. There's ceramics from Hornsea and furniture from G-Plan and Ercol, alongside the more high-end design of Knoll and Eames. It's a broad spread of the era, so you'll find everything from small collectables and lighting to larger pieces of furniture, rather than just one thing. The market is part of the Indie Markets collection, and the organisers set the shopping against nostalgic music and refreshments to keep the mid-century feel going throughout the day.
It's aimed at furniture lovers, home-décor enthusiasts and vintage collectors, but it works just as well if you're just starting to look for a specific piece or just want to browse. Because the traders come from all over the country, it's one of those days where you can see a lot of different stock in one place rather than hunting through individual shops across the city.
