Britain's biggest indoor tattoo, with massed marching bands, pipes and drums, military displays and Highland dancers under the theme 'Nations in Step'.
The Birmingham International Tattoo returns to bp pulse LIVE on the NEC campus on Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 February 2027. It's billed as Britain's biggest indoor tattoo, run by the Birmingham International Tattoo Trust, and this edition runs under the theme Nations in Step, which frames the weekend as a display of precision, timing and moving as one.
The programme mixes massed marching bands, pipes and drums with military displays like the Inter-Service Field Gun Competition and the British Flyball Association dog-racing competition, alongside dance teams and standard bearers. It all builds to the Spectacular Grand Finale, with more than 1,000 performers and the Parade of the Massed Standards. £1 from the sale of each ticket goes to the Army Benevolent Fund, the national charity of the British Army.
On the bill this time are Norway's Tveit Union Musikkorps and the Netherlands' Fanfare Korps Nationale Reserve, joining the British Army Band and the National Marching Band. Highland dancers and the Bluebird Belles add to the mix, with the whole thing coming together on the arena floor over two days. It's a big, loud, choreographed affair that brings together bands from across Europe and the UK in one room.
