Free improvised comedy show where a never-before-assembled cast of players creates scenes and skits from audience suggestions, with guest improv group Box of Frogs.
Birmingham Improv bring Spaghetti Junction to 1000 Trades on Wednesday 4 November, as part of the city's improv comedy Jam. The night runs on two acts: the title show and a set from resident guests Box of Frogs, who are billed as Birmingham's premiere improv group. Both are built entirely on audience suggestions, so what happens on stage depends on what the room throws at them.
Spaghetti Junction takes its name from the intersection of improvised scenes and skits. The cast is a never-before-assembled group of players who go in without any idea what the host's next prompt will be, and the audience is invited to help shape the night by offering suggestions and directions and deciding where the show is headed. It's a format that puts the crowd in the driver's seat, with the performers reacting to whatever comes their way.
Box of Frogs follow with their own show, which they describe as high-octane improvised nonsense. Like Spaghetti Junction, it's built from the ground up on audience suggestions, so the two acts together make for a full evening of improv rather than just a single set. The whole night is presented by Birmingham Improv.
