Opening night of Big Skank Audio's Residuals club night, with a bill of five DJs covering ambient, bass, garage, dubstep and drum and bass.
Big Skank Audio are launching their new Residuals session at House Of Beorma on Thursday 29 October, and they're doing it as a 'full spectrum' night. The whole thing is built to run through the label's entire sonic range in a single sitting, so rather than one sound all night, the music shifts gears as the evening goes on.
It starts at the quiet end: Enamor opens from 18:00 with liquid and ambient, followed by SSIAH from 18:45 on experimental bass, dub tech and electro. From there, JIVAH takes over at 19:30 with dub and dubstep, and Kabbou steps in at 20:15 with breakbeat and garage. The night closes with TRU from 21:00, who brings the jungle and drum and bass.
That's the full arc in a few hours: ambient and liquid, through bass music and deep 140, and then into jungle, halftime and minimal DnB rollers. The bill runs the gamut from UK garage and dubstep to experimental bass and straight-up drum and bass, so you can drop in for the early, more chilled-out sets or wait until the energy picks up later on.
