Hands-on barista course with Quarter Horse Coffee's experienced barista Gina to steam milk and pour consistent latte art.
Quarter Horse Coffee are running a latte art course at their training facility in the Jewellery Quarter on Wednesday 21 October. It's a two-hour session that starts at 10.00 am, and it's aimed at people who've already got the basics of brewing espresso down and want to take the next step. The focus is on the milk: how to steam it properly and how to pour consistent latte art, so you can actually get those patterns to show up rather than just a white blur.
Leading the session is Gina, the roastery's most experienced barista, so you'll be learning from someone who spends their days around the machine. The course is run by Quarter Horse Coffee themselves, a West Midlands roaster that works with direct trade and keeps a focus on sustainable, greener solutions. That means the coffee you're working with comes from a roastery that cares about where its beans come from and how they're sourced.
