Bhangra daytimer party with 80s, 90s and 00s Bhangra, Panjabi and club classics across two floors, staged by the team behind Desi Live.
Back in the Day Bhangra is taking over Sophy in Digbeth on Saturday 7 November, a daytimer running from 2:00pm to 7:00pm. It's put on by the team behind Desi Live, who call themselves the 'Premier showcase of Panjabi Music & History' and work with the elite of the South Asian music industry, powered by Desi Beatz. This one is billed as an intimate follow-up to sold-out shows at Ministry of Sound and Windsor.
The whole thing is built around the memory of sneaking out to daytimers — hiding a change of clothes and taking multiple buses to venues miles away just to hear the music you loved. The music policy stays strictly 80s, 90s and 00s Bhangra, Panjabi and club classics, spread across two floors: Bhangra, garage and old-skool anthems on the main floor, and Bollywood upstairs. If you're into that era of the scene, it's exactly the kind of thing that'll ring a bell.
