Alternative Artisans Market

Alternative Artisans returns to Secret Space Digbeth on Sunday 15 November, from 12 pm to 5 pm. It's a curated market for independent makers in the alternative, gothic and fetish community, and it bills itself as Birmingham's handmade alternative market.

The rule here is that every trader makes what they sell: no resellers, no mass-produced imports, no high-street lookalikes and no AI art. That means everything you see is made by the person standing behind the stall, not shipped in from a warehouse. You'll find chain and metalwork jewellery, taxidermy and curiosities, erotic art and illustration, latex and leather clothing, adult toys, gothic homeware, alternative fashion and other niche handmade items. It's a good spot to pick up something you won't find on a high street, and since it's all handmade, you're buying directly from the makers.

The day is strictly 18+ because some of the stock is adult, and the organisers describe it as a welcoming environment for nerdy people. If that sounds like your crowd, you'll fit right in. The venue is Secret Space Digbeth, an independent licensed multipurpose space in Digbeth with four rooms and a unique warehouse area, so there's plenty of room to wander around and take your time.
