Detective Hercule Poirot investigates a mysterious crime at a country estate in this new Agatha Christie mystery, starring Peter Polycarpou.
Agatha Christie's The Hollow comes to The Alexandra Theatre on Tuesday 12 January 2027, with the curtain going up at 7:30pm. It's a new staging of one of Christie's most compelling mysteries, set in an elegant country estate. The plot follows Hercule Poirot as he unravels a murder that seems almost staged, with alibis falling apart and masks slipping amid desire, jealousy and betrayal.
Behind the production is the company Fiery Angel, reunited here with director Lucy Bailey. The two worked together on sell-out tours of Murder on the Orient Express and Death on the Nile, so they're returning to the Christie world with a track record of filling houses. The show is expected to tour theatres across the UK, and this is its stop in Birmingham.
Taking the lead as the ever-meticulous Belgian sleuth is Peter Polycarpou, a face you'll recognise from Birds of a Feather, Evita and The Brutalist. He's stepped into the role Poirot has played so many times over the decades, and he'll be the one guiding the investigation through the country estate's drawing room.
