Community games night with UNO, Connect 4, Jenga, cards and limbo, plus Afrobeats, Hip Hop, Amapiano and RnB, for solo attendees and groups.
AFROSOCIAL are bringing their Games Night to The Rainbow on Friday 23 October, from 8pm to 11pm. It's a community evening built around the kind of games most of us grew up with — UNO, Connect 4, Jenga, cards and limbo — and it's open to solo attendees and groups alike, so you don't need to bring a full squad to get involved. The music runs alongside the games, with Afrobeats, Hip Hop, Amapiano and RnB on the go throughout the night.
If you're not familiar with the organisers, AFROSOCIAL is a growing Black creative and professional community that runs monthly networking events across the UK with an Afro twist. They describe their aim as building meaningful connections and advancing careers through a social medium, and the Birmingham chapter is their way of plugging people into the city's Black social scene. This Games Night sits on the more relaxed side of that: a community evening of crowd-pleasing classics rather than a formal networking session.
That said, there is a more structured side to what they do. AFROSOCIAL runs an Annual Membership, which they describe as an all-access pass to exclusive events, priority tickets and member-only experiences, alongside formal networking sessions featuring sector speakers. The Games Night is one of the more accessible ways to get a feel for the community they're building here in the city.
