Warwickshire Junior Chess Championship held at Tudor Grange Academy Kingshurst in Birmingham.
The 2026 Warwickshire Junior Championship is coming to Birmingham on Sunday 29 November, with the county's young chess players meeting up for a full day of competitive play. It's the main junior event of the year for Warwickshire, and the title is the big prize on the line.
The championship is hosted by Tudor Grange Academy Kingshurst, on Cooks Lane in Birmingham (B37 6NU). If you're coming from across the city, it's a school site, so you'll want to keep the postcode in mind when you're planning your route. It's a one-day event, so you'll be in and out on the same Sunday.
As a junior championship, it's open to the young players across the county, and the format is designed to get as many games in as possible over the course of the day. It's a chance for the younger crowd to test themselves against other juniors from around the region, rather than playing up against the adults in the open events. If you've got a young person in the house who's been playing at home or at a club, this is the one they'll be looking at.
