Belfast songwriter Tom Gee launches his new EP 'Doubting Thomas' with a full-band performance, supported by Girl For Sale.
Tom Gee is back at Crescent Arts Centre on Saturday 14 November, launching his new EP Doubting Thomas as part of the Sound of Belfast Festival. It's his first EP release in more than a decade, a five-track record recorded and produced at Half-Bap Studios here in the city, and the launch party is the first time it'll be heard in full. The songs run across religion, politics, love, loss and laughter, and the night is billed as a full-band performance.
Gee is also the founder and curator of the Sunflower Sessions, a music night celebrating original artists and collaboration that's earned him a following in the Belfast scene. For this show, he's pulling from that same local pool: the band includes George Sloan, Adam Booth, Sarah McCreedy, M Alexander and Matt McIvor. Support comes from Girl For Sale, a songwriter and storyteller from Tyrone who was one of the original Sunflower Sessions performers.

There's a co-write with Eve Belle on the record, and Taylor Johnson of BBC Introducing described the EP as having 'an unmistakable Foy Vance quality'. The whole thing is strictly 18+, and it's BYO liquid refreshments. The night runs from 19:00 to 22:00, with doors opening at 18:50, at Crescent Arts Centre, 2-4 University Road, Belfast BT7 1NH.
