Olivier Award-nominated stage adaptation of Judith Kerr's children's book, with sing-along songs and no interval, for children aged 3 and over.
The Tiger Who Came to Tea is coming to Ulster Hall in June 2027, with three matinee performances over a single weekend. It's the stage adaptation of Judith Kerr's children's book, brought to life by David Wood, and it's touring directly from the West End.
If you know the story, you know how it goes: Sophie and her mummy sit down to tea, and a big, stripy tiger bursts in through the door. What follows is half an hour of magic, sing-along songs and clumsy chaos. It's a simple premise, but that's why it works—the kind of story that sticks with you long after you've closed the book. The stage version keeps that spirit, turning the teatime mayhem into something you can watch and sing along with.
It's an Olivier Award-nominated production, and The Mail on Sunday called it 'a rare and great achievement'. The show runs for about 55 minutes with no interval, so it's a manageable length for little ones. It's recommended for children aged 3 and over, and under-14s need to be accompanied by an adult. If you're bringing a baby under 12 months, you can collect a babes in arms ticket from the venue.
