Traditional Irish music show by The Friel Sisters with Cathal Ó Curráin and Marty Barry, part of the Belfast City Council Teenage Kicks programme.
The Friel Sisters play The Duncairn on Saturday 7 November, with Anna, Sheila and Clare Friel taking the stage alongside Cathal Ó Curráin and Marty Barry. It's part of the Belfast City Council Teenage Kicks programme, so it's open to all ages.
The sisters come from northwest Donegal, raised in the Donegal diaspora of Glasgow and now based in the Donegal Gaeltacht. Their sets mix instrumental music with songs in Irish and English, both drawn from their family repertoire. That family connection is at the heart of what they do, and the mix of languages means you'll hear the Irish tradition in both its spoken and sung forms in a single night.
They're joined by two other musicians. Marty Barry is a guitar player and singer from Banbridge, Co Down, and Cathal Ó Curráin is a bouzouki player and singer from Gaoth Dobhair, who was recently named Best Emerging Artist at the RTÉ Folk Awards. With the three sisters and two guests, it's a five-piece on stage, combining singing and playing across the set.

The show runs from 6:30 to 8:30 pm, with doors opening at 6 pm. It's at The Duncairn, which has been putting arts at the heart of North Belfast since 2014. One practical thing to keep in mind: no BYOB is permitted, so you'll be relying on the bar for your drinks. If you're bringing the kids, it's an all-ages night, so that's sorted too.
