West End tribute show celebrating 50 years of Neil Diamond's music, starring tribute artist Gary Ryan.
Sweet Caroline comes to the Grand Opera House on Wednesday 21 July 2027, starting at 7:30pm. It's a tribute show celebrating the life and work of Neil Diamond, put on by the producers of Fastlove and The Magic of Motown.
At the centre is tribute artist Gary Ryan, who performed the act on Stars in Their Eyes. The show works its way through 50 years of Diamond's music, and it doesn't stick to one sound. It pulls from the reggae of Red Red Wine, the country of Cracklin' Rosie, and the Hollywood style of The Jazz Singer, so it covers a good bit of ground across the different genres he worked in over the decades. It's billed as 'direct from the West End', and the producers describe it as a celebration of his life and work.
One thing to keep in mind is that the show isn't affiliated with any of the original artists, estates or management companies. It's a tribute act, not a production from Diamond's own camp.
