Free Sunday morning session with live music, a classic record club with DJ Paddy and free arts and crafts workshops for kids.
The Duncairn is bringing back the Super Sunday Session on Sunday 25 October, and it's one of those mornings that works just as well if you're bringing the kids as if you're just coming for the music. It's a free session, and it's back after a bit of a break, so if you've been to one before, this is the one that's returned.
There's a few different things going on at once, which is why it works for different crowds. You've got live music and a classic record club with DJ Paddy on the decks, so there's plenty to listen to while you're there. For the younger ones, there are free arts and crafts workshops, and Native Coffee will have a stand doing refreshments, so you can grab a coffee and a treat and let the kids get stuck into the making side of things. It's the kind of morning where you can drift between the music and the workshops without having to choose one or the other.
The Duncairn describes the Super Sunday Session as its most loved community event, and it fits into what they do there: supporting artists and giving new, young, and emerging talent a place to play, always with their regulars around them. These sessions are free, family-friendly gatherings that bring music, creativity, conversation and connection into communities across North, South, East and West Belfast. They're inclusive, welcoming and open to all ages, and they're part of a wider effort to build relationships, celebrate local culture and contribute to a Fleadh for all.
