Monthly free guided session on the first Sunday of each month to slow down and look closely at works from the Ulster Museum's art collection.
Slow Art Sundays run on the first Sunday of every month at the Ulster Museum in Belfast, from 14:00 to 15:00. The whole point is to slow down and look properly at a small selection of works from the museum's art collection, rather than rushing through the galleries. It's an invitation to spend an hour with a few pieces and see what happens when you give them your full attention.
Each session is led by one of the museum's guides, who walks the group through the influences and inspirations behind the works and shares their own favourites along the way. It's a gentle, guided entry point into the collection rather than a formal lecture, so you're not expected to come with any prior knowledge. Sketching and bringing your own interpretations are encouraged, and the museum also marks International Slow Art Day as part of this commitment to slow looking.
Every week we pick 🏆 the 5 best 🏆 things to do in Belfast and send them to your inbox. Just one weekly email, no spam.
